In 1996 Eric "Black Trump" Ford was wrongfully convicted of murder.  Barely 18 and with the incompetent help of a public defender, he was sentenced to 100 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.  Eric Ford, lacking an attorney or his parents during the interrogation confessed to this heinous crime he did not commit.  The presiding judge over his bench trial agreed as much.  "While not directly involved in the murder, the defendant, Eric Ford could have prevented the murder." 

Really an 18 year old could have prevented this heinous crime?  Not likely.

My name is Martez and this is my struggle to obtain freedom for my brother.  He has been locked up for 13 years-what feels like an eternity for his daughter and friends who love him. 

I started this site after I, myself came home from prison in 2003 for a drug conviction.  After barely receiving any mail or money, I felt exactly what my brother has to go thru-day in and day out.  BlackTrump4life.com was conceived in 2005 with the hope of finding him and the millions of other incarcerated pen pals.  For me, BT4L is a labor of love...I don't make much money off of it and what I do make usually goes to my brother and his commissary.  I get an enormous amount of joy helping incarcerated inmates find positive, pen pals.  H

Hopefully, in some small way BT4L can help reduce the recidivism rate...and help ex felons find jobs and resources after they come home.  To that end, I'll constantly work.
